As long as the pandemic has not subsided, I am not offering this walk because we
cannot guarantee a minimum distance and cannot offer samples.

Culinary Explorations

Easy walk through the historic centre of Ísafjörður featuring culture, food and drink

Do you want to get to know an Icelandic home?
Are you interested in local food

The charming town of Ísafjördur is unique. Its well-preserved city centre mirrors its particular history.

Our guide is dressed as a woman from the 19th century, and takes you on a walk through the city.

We then invite you to taste yourself through the history and culture of Iceland and Westfjords.

Local people serve you a big variety of traditional and modern foods.

A walk full of culinary surprises!

Along the way the participants meet locals and are invited into an Icelandic home. They are offered to sample a lot of different food: Fermented shark, brennivín, rhubarb, cake and cocoa, dry fish, Icelandic flatbred with cheese or smoked lamb and Icelandic sweets.
